More Pictures, Thoughts

Wow! Over a month old already.

Grandpa (my father) came for a visit and a stroll.

Toshiro has developed some very endearing male pattern baldness.

I'm still having a great time.

Toshiro is raring to go and ready for another month.

No picture of me on the computer. What is the significance of that? Probably nothing as that wouldn't make for a very good picture. I bring it up, however, only to point out that no such picture could exist because I've hardly been on the computer at all. I imagine that my computer time will forever be greatly reduced, but fear not--rather than cutting out blogging, I'll cut out the time-wasting.

Regular blogging will eventually resume.

Thank you very much to all of the well wishers who have commented on the last several posts!

The Thing That Third Most Brightened My Day Today

Here (via Althouse.) That's a Presidential candidate interview if there's ever been one. Dare we entertain the hope that he'll run? Such disappointment will result if he decides to forego the race!

Why was this "third most" in day brightening things? Well, even Fred Thompson cannot compare to the Free Husband and the new Free Baby.

Links and Reading

In case you missed them, the 60th and 61st Carnivals of Homeschooling are up.

Berkeley Parents Network
has a helpful site about babies.

Feeding a baby entails a significant amount of time spent sitting still--perfect for catching up on a reading backlog. So far I've read and can highly recommend The Ten Basic Principles of Good Parenting (solid, general parenting principles based on consensus in scientific research on parenting), Homeschooling for Excellence (a fascinating look at a very successful homeschooling family including plenty of how-to), and Teaching Montessori in the Home: Pre-School Years (instructions on making and using your own Montessori materials).

I just started Inside American Education, so I cannot yet offer a review. However, it is Thomas Sowell, so there's little doubt that it will be excellent.

Toshiro Smiles

I finally caught one on camera.

Even More Baby
